Who should use a Pro V1?

Most golf coaches would not recommend a Titleist Pro V1 to a beginner. They have a compression rating of 87-90 which requires a swing speed between 98-105 mph to properly compress the golf ball. Most beginners would benefit from a lower compression and lower spin golf ball.

If you’re a savvy veteran and know your way around a golf course with a mid to high swing speed, then a Titleist Pro V1 is for you. There is no better ball around the greens and when hit properly no ball flies better off the tee.

Some golfers and coaches believe the Titleist Pro V1 is the best all-around ball on the market and should be used by all players of all skill levels. If cost is not a factor, it’s hard to argue. The Pro V1 has proven over and over again that it’s the #1 golf ball on the market today.

Who should use a Pro V1x?

The biggest difference between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x is the ball flight. The Pro V1x is designed to have a higher launch angle and fall from much steeper angles resulting in more airtime and less roll out. If you have a hard time lifting a Pro V1, then a Pro V1x could be just what you need.

The Pro V1x has a compression rating of 97-100 which means that a swing speed of at least 105 is ideal for hitting the Pro V1x. This will result in more distance and the optimal trajectory. It does not necessarily mean that you shouldn’t use a Pro V1x if you don’t have a higher swing speed. It’s just the optimal swing speed. These balls were designed by Titleist with overall performance in mind for all players.
